Sometimes we go to see existing kitchens and find that the general layout works well. We believe there’s no need to suggest major layout changes for the sake of change, if it doesn’t improve the overall function.
With this project we were able to suggest a few simple changes that would take an already functioning kitchen to the next level. This involved blocking up an interior doorway and removing a radiator to create more kitchen planning space.
To retain the heating, we installed a hydronic plinth heater that works off the central heating and can be controlled via the thermostat. By blocking up the doorway, we had more planning space which meant being able to introduce a pantry cabinet into the kitchen. We positioned this near the fridge freezer to create a designated food storage zone.
