Customer Requirements
The clients came to us requiring design help, as they wanted to convert their current kitchen and separate dining space into an open-plan living space. We initially designed 3 different open-plan layouts for them so that we could discuss how each of these would flow and, together, we discussed which layout would suit them the best. Being able to create the new space on our design software, with all the building work changes made, really helped the client visualise their new open-plan space and ensure it was going to work for them, before taking the real step and investing in the actual building work.
The new space allows for a tall bank, creating a food storage zone with the pantries and integrated fridge and freezer altogether. We created a discreet laundry area at the far end of the kitchen with an integrated washing machine, ample worktop space and storage for cleaning products. With the wall removed between the kitchen and dining space, we were able to design a central island that incorporated both storage and seating space for up to 4 people.
The black floor and worktops were changed for much lighter options, with a small amount of sparkle, which really helped lift the space and made it feel more spacious and brighter.
