Final Kitchen Design Overview

The new kitchen design was heavily influenced by the limitations of the existing space. The old freestanding gas cooker was problematic due to its low oven and inconvenient preheating. The family table was replaced by a breakfast area for two, which the client wanted to retain despite its current placement splitting the room and creating unused space. Additionally, the kitchen had to accommodate an external back door, a hot air heating system, a separate floor-standing hot water boiler, and two support nibs for the extension lintel.

Design Solutions:

  • Concealment and First Impressions: A front frame tall bank was designed to conceal the hot air heating system and support nib, providing a sleek initial look upon entering the room.
  • Integrated Storage and Appliances: Next to this, an integrated fridge freezer and oven bank were positioned, featuring a mix of tall and midi-height furniture to create a decorative shelved area. Base cabinets provided essential worksurface near the ovens.
  • Optimised Cooking Setup: The client’s cooking requirements were met with a single oven, combination microwave, and warming drawer placed at eye level for easier access. The floor boiler was hidden with a reduced depth cabinet, allowing the external door to open fully.
  • Breakfast Area and Layout Adjustment: To address the issue of the room being split, a new breakfast area was created. A false wall was built around the existing support nib, allowing the relocation of the hob and resolving the previous placement problem.
  • Sink and Washing Area: The sink and washer were placed under the window due to waste pipe outlets, and the dishwasher was positioned further down the run to avoid a congested corner.
  • Storage Solutions: Integrated waste bins and internal and external drawer cabinets provided ample storage. Solving the oven and hob placement allowed for a large, uninterrupted worksurface ideal for baking and preparation. Wall cabinets above made it convenient for loading and unloading the dishwasher and preparing drinks.
  • Aesthetic Choices: The design featured white high gloss doors paired with timber and concrete effect worktops, creating a subtle contrast while balancing cool and warm tones.
  • Budget-Friendly Quality: Hard-wearing, competitively priced products were chosen, including PP edged gloss lacquered doors and laminate worktops from a German manufacturer, ensuring the project stayed within budget without compromising quality.

Customer Feedback

We have no hesitation in recommending 4 Seasons if you are looking to find first class kitchen design and installation. The showroom had lots of choice, ideas and inspiration and we found Dean very helpful and patient as he guided us through the excitement of the design process.

Installation was on schedule and the standard of work excellent. Attention to detail was very evident and the overall final effect is simply stunning.

We are delighted that we chose 4 Seasons to transform our kitchen!!

We used Four Seasons Kitchens after being recommended by our architect Abi Tice and it's the best decision we made! Donna was excellent from start to finish in designing our kitchen and utility room. Donna's creative vision is excellent. Four Seasons have an excellent range of designs and colours. We wanted a primarily green kitchen and they had a wide range of different options. We saw the kitchen we liked in the showroom with the perfect handles. Donna designed the kitchen thoughtfully and really listened to what we wanted, incorporating practicality into the design. Donna was also able to include a 'hidden door' in the design, which another kitchen company we had visited before going to Four Seasons had said they were not able to do. The utility room is also designed so well and looks lovely. Everybody who visits compliments us on the kitchen. We love it! I smile when I walk into my lovely kitchen.

Four Seasons offered an amazing service. They offered great advice on kitchen design and were very patient whilst we chose colours etc. After the kitchen was fitted, they even helped out to fix some mistakes our own builders made. With hindsight I wish we had asked Four Seasons to fit the kitchen. Highly recommended!

Thank you so much to Liam and the team at Four Seasons Kitchens for helping us turn the vision for our new kitchen into reality. As we were building an extension to our property we decided to turn our existing kitchen and dining area into a large kitchen with a huge island/breakfast bar as the focal point. Liam was very patient with us as we changed our minds multiple times over the 12 month planning period. Liam worked with us, incorporating our ideas and also coming up with different designs until we finally settled on what can only be described as our perfect dream kitchen. Having lived in the space for around 6 months now, there is nothing we would change - it is absolutely fantastic. Liam managed to incorporate all of the appliances and storage we wanted into the space we had and the design works perfectly in our new open plan kitchen, living and dining area. I run Tice & Co. Architects and many of my clients select Four Seasons for their dream kitchen / utility / boot room and are beyond thrilled with the design service, working to their budget, seamless insulation and over all fabulous experience. The Four Seasons team are passionate designers and will make sure your kitchen feels unique if that is something you are after! Last year I designed my own new kitchen and utility with Donna and it completely transformed my home. My new kitchen brings me and my family so much joy, it’s the hub of the house and incredibly robust so hopefully it will last a lifetime! I highly recommend Four Seasons!
This is my second kitchen/ renovation project. Compared to the first well known kitchen company, 4season was 200% better in customer service and I will highly recommend them. The designer really thought through the kitchen configuration and gave really useful suggestions. She liaised with kitchen fitter and project manager to make sure everything fittted as it should. Few minor snagging issues and errors but they tried their best to rectify and make it right for us. Superb quality kitchen, beautifully designed and planned by them. Not the cheapest but 100% well worth the money.

We are absolutely obsessed with our Four Seasons kitchen. We cannot thank Jean enough for helping us create our dream space- even though we didn’t know exactly what we wanted we had ideas about texture, colour and the atmosphere we wanted to create and she just got it. Her attention to detail was immaculate- the quality of their suppliers is also unlike anything we could have ever expected. The finishing on every tiny part of the kitchen is stunning.

I would like to thank Jean and Ian for their excellent services. We were recommended four seasons by a friend who was thrilled with his kitchen. I would highly recommend four seasons, the quality of the kitchens and their overall expertise and knowledge really is something else. Thank you so much for all your help.
We found Jean great to deal with and would have bought our kitchen from Four Seasons but unfortunately the design she came up with just didn't work for us. We ended up going with a company who admittedly were a bit more expensive but the design they did for us was amazing and so that swung it for us.

Thank you to the Four Seasons’ team - they took the time to carefully plan, design and install our kitchen over December 2023. The service was excellent throughout and we’re delighted with the final result. We’d definitely recommend them.
