Customer Requirements
The owners of this mid-terrace Victorian house in Leeds asked us to create a welcoming contemporary kitchen for a keen cook. They wanted to place their kitchen at the heart of a multi-functional living, dining and cooking space that occupies the whole of the open-plan ground floor and to make the most of the views across to Gledhow Valley and the woods beyond.
Colour and texture were important considerations, the owners chose a bespoke matt glass door in a reddish brown tone that was chosen to echo the colour of the brick houses viewed outside. A herringbone oak floor softens the scheme. The matt glass, aluminium accents, Corian and stainless steel appliances were all chosen with longevity and ease of cleaning and maintenance in mind.
A large island with seating creates a perfect focus for informal dining and entertaining, while Siemens steam ovens and integrated dishwasher and refrigeration make this a hardworking kitchen as well as practical and relaxing living space.
