Our clients came to us to update their tired kitchen into a contemporary multifunctional space. This space needed to incorporate a large kitchen area with plenty of worktop space, a bright dining room and a casual lounge area, which all needed to blend together.
To achieve the contemporary look that the customer wanted, we used Leicht’s sleek, handle-less cabinets in contrasting colours in the kitchen. By mixing the alpine grey base units with the platinum tall & wall units, we added depth and interest to the kitchen design. By using the darker colour at the lower level and the lighter colour higher up, we prevented the kitchen space from feeling crowded; maximising the storage without it feeling imposing.
Our customers like to cook so we designed a suite of ovens giving them the flexibility of cooking with fan oven, steam, microwave and a combination of all 3. As well as the general storage space required in this kitchen, having plenty of clear worktop space was a must have. By planning the hob centrally, it meant we had ample worktop space around the sink for dishes and kept all the hob area clear for prep. It even allowed for an expansive worktop space near the breakfast bar, providing a casual area to sit, eat and drink within the kitchen.
With a large kitchen like this, we wanted to ensure that it felt warm and homely. We introduced the richness of oak in key features around the room to provide this warmth and create interesting design features. The shelves give the customer a space to display their pottery and add their personality into the room.
